In a nation-wide contest between local ENACTUS groups, the Mannheim group won the first prize by convincing the jury with their great social entrepreneurship projects. We congratulate them very much for this great success and hope that they will continue to change the world with such creative and ambitious projects in the future!

 

What is ENACTUS?

ENACTUS is a community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to shape a better, more sustainable world. With over 57,000 members at 1600 universities worldwide, it is one of the largest international student organizations. They do that by starting social entrepreneuship projects which empower socially disadvanged people or make some aspects of our life more ecologically soustainable. Are family enterprises attractive for top professionals? Which values do German family firms stand for?

On the 29th of April, these questions will be discussed by top-class speakers in a panel diskussion by VaPassion. The referents will be Jan Rinnert, Chairman of the Heraeus Holding GmbHs management board, Prof. Dr. Goetz Werner, founder and member of the board of the dm-drogerie markt GmbH and Alexander Sixt, Head of corporate development and m&a at the Sixt group.

Alexander Schwoerer, managing partner of the PERI GmbH, Stephanie Bschorr, president of the Verband deutscher Unternehmerinnen and Lencke Wischhusen, federal chairman of DIE JUNGEN UNTERNEHMER will also be present.

The event will take place at 7pm at B6, room A001.

On the 25th of March, an new startup initiative will enter the stage: SUN is a Germany-wide network made up of students and alumnis who are passionate about startups and thinking about founding their own business. Join the kickoff-event of the local Karlsruhe/Heidelberg/Mannheim group and listen to a keynote from the sucessfull founders of "von Jungfeld", who already rocked our last Startup Lounge (yes, "the guys with the coloured socks")!


The Event will take place on the 25th of March at 6 pm in room A102 (B6, 23-25). After the event, the participants are invited to join SAPs "Social Impact Bar" at the Alte Feuerwache.

MakeSense is a global movement that wants to connect social entrepreneurs with volunteers to make them discuss business challenges together. In order to reach this, they conduct workshops that combine social entrepreneurship with fun group brainstorming. There is only one simple goal: to help the entrepreneurs in solving their problems with creative solutions. 

On the 19th of March, you will have the chance to join their first Hold-Up in Mannheim and experience this great concept first-hand!

The participants will speak to the founders of Kancha, a startup that sells design products that have been fairly produced in Kyrgyzstan. Their design sleeves for notebooks, tablets and smartphones are made by hand and under fair conditions from natural felt and leather. Thereby, Kancha connects the nomadic tradition with mobile metropolitans and supports the economic development of Kyrgyzstan.

The event will take place on the 19th of March from 18.30 to 20.30 at room 210 at the IFM (L9, 1-2). Please note that a registration on Facebook is required!

 

Did you already hear about the new entrepreneurship and lifestyle student initiative VaPassion.? On the 11th of March, they will have their first semester event at the University of Mannheim. Martin von Wenckstern, CEO and co-founder of Urbanara (Berlin), Max Gärtner, CEO and co-founder of Vicampo (Mainz) and David Handlos, CEO and co-founder of Stocard (Mannheim) will hold short inspirational talks about the driving forces behind what they are doing. Don't miss this interesting event!
