MCEI's partner bdvb is offering an interesting workshop in cooperation with PwC on September 23, 2013.

The bdvb is a student organization with more than 120.000 members in Germany and has been representing economics and business students for more than 100 years. The organization has a great semester program, offering workshops, discussions and other activities which all students of the University of Mannheim can participate in.

Next week's PwC audit workshop will give participants great insights into the annual audit procedures and outcomes by one of the big players within the auditing industry. With over 180 000 employees worldwide and over $ 31 billion turnover PwC is one of the Big Four audit firms, which check and advise the majority of listed companies worldwide.

The bdvb e.V. (Bundesverband Deutscher Volks- und Betriebswirte) represents the interests of economists and practitioners in Germany since more than 100 years and is their largest professional association, including more than 120,000 members. The association provides a forum for exchange between academia and practice and supports its members during their studies and later on in professional life with lectures, professional trainings and career services. Besides the umbrella organization at the federal level, the bdvb consists of numerous regional, professional and academic groups, which can draw their independent work on a valuable network. So fresh ideas connect with experience.

The Hochschulgruppe Mannheim has set itself the goal of deepening academic knowledge through cooperation with numerous companies. The excellent economic focus of the prestigious University of Mannheim is also reflected in the events offered. With their diversified semester program, the Hochschulgruppe Mannheim acts as a bridge between aspiring students and successful companies and has in recent years not only attracted a lot of attention by the organization and implementation of the Hidden Champions Day and the FemCareerDay at the University of Mannheim. The Hochschulgruppe Mannheim is constantly looking for new partners for workshops, lectures and seminars - whether established companies or young, emerging startups who are interested in sharing knowledge and experience with students of the University of Mannheim in the fields of marketing, finance, management and startups.

Enactus – entrepreneurial, action, us: A community of student, academic and business leaders committed to using the power of entrepreneurial action to shape a better, more sustainable world. Our goal is not to hand out help, but to work side-by-side with our community to create sustainable change.
With over 57,000 members worldwide, Enactus is one of the largest international student organizations. At 1600 universities around the world, students develop community outreach projects and put the theoretical concepts that they learned during their university studies into action.

Enactus at the University of Mannheim was founded in 2005 and has since grown to 150 members. In 15 projects, students develop innovative solutions for society’s problems, such as the inclusion of people with disabilities into our society. A project example is the Firmenkeks. This delicious hand-baked cookie is branded with a corporate logo and then sold to companies as a csr opportunity. What makes our cookie special is that people with disabilities are in charge of the entire production process. Past customers include the BASF or Telekom.

During the year, our members meet up regularly outside of their project teams for fun activities such as running dinners or the one-Enactus weekend, where Enactus teams from all over Germany get together. A highlight of the year is the national competition where all German teams present their past year’s results. In the past four years, we have won National Champion three times, allowing us to present our results at the world cup. Most recently, we reached the semi-finals at the World Cup 2012 in Washington D.C., making us one of the top 15 teams in the world.
