The World Sustainable Procurement Day is coming up. Next Monday, 21 March, students and academics are going to discuss for a whole day about sustainable procurement and supply chain, including a session of Uni Mannheim students and researchers. For the agenda in detail see https://wspd.earth/agenda/

How students and young professionals transform corporate supply chains for the better

As a young professional or student focused on business, supply chain and sustainability there are various career paths you could choose to make valuable impact in creating a more sustainable economy. Sustainable procurement is a very meaningful one that is not always on students' minds. Hear from young professionals and PhD-candidates first-hand how they are shaping procurement and supply chains for a truly sustainable future.

In this session you will learn about challenges and opportunities in this field covering different roles and industries. The panelists will share their individual tasks from a perspective of sustainability consulting, corporate sustainability function, and academic research and cover different aspects of sustainability pertaining to fashion, chemical, and agricultural supply chains.

Speakers include

Carolina Mariotto – Nordic Sustainability,
Maija Kirveennummi – Henkel,
Favour Uzoma Mba – PhD Student London Metropolitan University,
Nora Nguyễn – PhD Student Nottingham Trent University,

To learn more about the programm and see the promo video see https://www.iei.uni-bayreuth.de/de/veranstaltungen/Gruenderinnen_Akademie/index.html

The funding program ”Young Innovators” supports young researchers from universities, non-academic research institutions and academies in developing and selling innovative products and business models. Fundable is the preparation for setting up a start-up that deals with innovative products, procedures or services, e.g. inventions, software or other technological know-how.

The program includes consulting and other support as well as a constant funding and income comparable with a permanent post-doc position. That is about to offer an alternative to a regular uni contract to enable researchers starting over with their ideas. As a long-term target the program tries to ease knowledge and technology transfer from academic and research institutions into business. Therefor it particularly aims at potential founders who were benefitting from other funding before that is about to end.

The next funding is open for application until 26 March. For more info follow the link.
