Since 2001, the Business Angels Deutschland e.V. has been awarding the title Business Angels of the Year. This year, for the first time, a woman received the title and won the "Goldene Nase" award. Dr. Andrea Kranzer was chosen from among seven Business Angels by a nine-member jury that was headed by the Federal Minister of Economics, Peter Altmaier.
In the almost 20-year long history of the "Goldene Nase", it has always been men: no woman has ever received the Business Angels Netzwerks Deutschland (BAND) award for Business Angel of the Year. Until now. Dr. Andrea Kranzer has been involved in startups since 2014 in industries such as life sciences, IT and digital business models, particularly during their pre-seed and seed phases. Additionally, she has founded the startup balloonas in 2015, a company that operates around ideas for children's birthdays. She is also a member of various business angels networks, for example, she cofounded angels4health, a network of private investors focused on life sciences in 2018. Now by receiving the "Goldene Nase", Kranzer is part of the BAND Heaven of Fame - the honor gallery for all Business Angels.
Dr. Andrea Kranzer is an alumnus of the University of Mannheim, and has also been active at the MCEI Startup Lounges.
