Uni Mannheim Ranked #4 among most entrepreneur-friendly Universities in Germany Uni Mannheim/Norbert Bach

On September 29, the 8th German Startup Monitor (Deutscher Startup Monitor, DSM) was presented in Berlin. The University of Mannheim is ranked 4th in the ranking of universities that bring forth a particularly large number of startup founders, what makes us at MCEI really happy and proud.

This year, the top ten of the startup universities are led by the Technical University of Munich ahead of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology and the RWTH Aachen University. As the best mid-size university, the University of Mannheim follows in fourth place in a nationwide comparison, outclassing far larger universities, such as the TU Berlin.

German Startup Monitor

In addition to general key data on the German startup ecosystem, the 8th DSM provides detailed insights into the problems that startups are facing in the current crisis situation as well as into the technological, ecological, and social changes characterizing the present startup scene.

For the German Startup Monitor, all founders and management members of startups in Germany were invited to participate in an online survey during the survey period from May 11 to June 21, 2020. They were provided with special links to the survey by e-mail. These were shared within the network of the German Startups Association (Bundesverband Deutsche Startups e.V.) and via the more than 300 selected DSM network partners.
