Today, about a third of all self-employed are women. Nearly one in five companies in the German Mittelstand is run by a woman. And also the founding interest among women remains strong. According to the CIC-founder report in 2013, about 40 percent of all new businesses were founded by women in 2012. Nevertheless, it is still a challenge to start a business and to lead. Aligning family and career, negotiating with banks: For female entrepreneurs, this is only a small subset of the tasks that they have to deal with every day.
