The Elevator Pitch BW is a contest for startups based in Baden-Württemberg. On December 2nd, 10 companies which had collected most votes in the Elevator Pitch BW online contest pitched at the Rhein-Neckar Regional Cup. Over 140 participants and a jury of local experts watched coriously as the founders presented their great ideas in an entertaining manner.
We're proud to announce that the first prize was gained by OPAL, a company founded by Mannheim-based postgraduates which offers a predictive system for fresh food management in the retail industry. It allows a simple analysis of inventory data in real time and thereby makes it possible to minimize the disposal of groceries without restricting the supply at supermarkets. The company has recently received some MCEI support in the form of an Inside the Venture project with INTEGRA.
Next summer, OPAL wll be pitching at the county finals for the main prize. Keep an eye on www.elevatorpitch-bw.de for the appointed day and the dates of the outstandig other regional finals!
